Indonesian
Professional Teacher Training Program (PPG) is one of the Governmental
strategic programs in 2013 intended to support the national teachers’
development in Indonesia. The main purpose of the program is to enhance the
teachers’ competencies, skills, and qualifications in Education.
According
to the national fundamental rules of policies about professional teachers and
lecturers (UU RI No 14/2005 Tentang Guru dan Dosen and
PP RI No. 74/2008 Tentang Guru), there are basically four teachers’ competencies
as the material components included in the curriculum of the Indonesian
Professional Teacher Training Program (PPG) as follows;
- Competence of Professionalism
- Competence of Pedagogic/ Educating Proficiency
- Competence of Personality
- Competence of Social
It is strongly assumed that with
those four competencies, teachers will have strong basic skills of teaching and
using Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in class. They will also be
able to:
- make, to execute, and to evaluate the teaching plans.
- do further actions as a follow-up to the evaluation they make by personal guidance and training for the students.
- make incessant researches related to education.
- improve their professionalism on an ongoing basis.
